Information Complexity for Multiparty Communication
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we have studied the information complexity for the communication model involving more than two parties. A lot of work has already been done on the information complexity in two party communication model and the question of extending the definition of information complexity to the multiparty communication model was posed in [Bra12]. In this paper, we first give a definition of internal information cost for a protocol involving more than two parties and our definition matches the definition known for two party model. Our definition is valid for both in NIH model and NOF model. We also extend several results known for information complexity of two party model to multiparty communication setting. One of them is the additivity property, which eventually gives us the direct sum theorem for both information cost and distributional information cost. We give a lower bound for the information complexity of a function involving more that two parties in terms of communication complexity and this lower bound matches with the bound known for the function evaluated by only two parties. We also show that the amortized communication complexity of a function computed by k parties is lower bounded by the information complexity and upper bounded by (k−1) times the information complexity and this relation is true for both distributional and non-distributional case.

In this paper, a new broadcast encryption scheme is presented based on threshold secret sharing and secure multiparty computation. This scheme is maintained to be dynamic in that a broadcaster can broadcast a message to any of the dynamic groups of users in the system and it is also fair in the sense that no cheater is able to gain an unfair advantage over other users. Another important feature...
متن کاملNOF-Multiparty Information Complexity Bounds for Pointer Jumping
We prove a lower bound on the communication complexity of pointer jumping for multiparty one-way protocols in the number on the forehead model that satisfy a certain information theoretical restriction: We consider protocols for which the ith player may only reveal information about the first i+1 inputs. To this end we extend the information complexity approach of Chakrabarti, Shi, Wirth, and Y...
متن کاملExponential Quantum-Classical Gaps in Multiparty Nondeterministic Communication Complexity
There are three different types of nondeterminism in quantum communication: i) NQP-communication, ii) QMA-communication, and iii) QCMA-communication. In this paper we show that multiparty NQP-communication can be exponentially stronger than QCMA-communication. This also implies an exponential separation with respect to classical multiparty nondeterministic communication complexity. We argue tha...
متن کاملTowards a Theory of Multiparty Information Complexity
Communication complexity seeks to characterize the complexity of computation by measuring the amount of communication that must be used by players computing the output of some function f , each of whom have only partial information about the inputs to f . The past thirty years have seen the development of a number of lower-bound techniques in communication complexity, which fall roughly into tw...
متن کاملComplexity : The Ramsey Theory
1 Recall We state what was proven in Multiparty Communication Complexity I. has all of the inputs except x i. Let d(f) be the total number of bits broadcast in the optimal deterministic protocol for f. At the end of the protocol all parties must know the answer. This is called the multiparty communication complexity of f. The scenario is called the forehead model.
